{"id":1740,"date":"2016-05-27T16:21:06","date_gmt":"2016-05-27T15:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bussink.ch\/?p=1740"},"modified":"2018-05-23T17:57:36","modified_gmt":"2018-05-23T15:57:36","slug":"enabling-vrealize-log-insight-agent-on-vrealize-automation-7-appliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bussink.ch\/?p=1740","title":{"rendered":"Enabling vRealize Log Insight agent on vRealize Automation 7 appliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While deploying a vRealize Automation (vRA) appliance at a customer yesterday, I wanted to setup the monitoring from vRealize Automation to the vRealize Log Insight (vRLI) solution with the new vRA 7 Content Pack. This Content Pack is available for download from the Marketplace, directly on each vRLI server.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bussink.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2016\/05\/vra_cp.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1744 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bussink.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2016\/05\/vra_cp.png\" alt=\"vra_cp\" width=\"293\" height=\"104\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When you install the vRA 7 Content Pack you can find the setup instruction in the tool tab. This agent is already running on the appliance when it is deployed, but it is not configured. You just need to connect using SSH to the vRA appliance and edit the <strong>\/etc\/liagent.ini<\/strong> configuration file.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1746\" style=\"width: 723px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bussink.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2016\/05\/liagent_ini.png\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1746\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1746\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bussink.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2016\/05\/liagent_ini.png\" alt=\"edit the \/etc\/liagent.ini file\" width=\"713\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bussink.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/liagent_ini.png 713w, https:\/\/www.bussink.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/liagent_ini-300x83.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 713px) 100vw, 713px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1746\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">edit the \/etc\/liagent.ini file<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The three fields to edit are vRLI hostname, protocol (cfapi) and the port. In the next screenshot I have selected to setup this Agent configuration using the IP Address of my vRA Appliance.
