I didn’t have it until a couple
of hours ago. I didn’t install anything new and even tried to reboot
the machine since to get rid of the problem.
What happens is if I now try to resize any window on my machine, I can only
increase/decrease it in huge quanity of pixels… If I open the notepad it’s a
1/4 screen window, and I can only expand it horizontaly to full width
or vertically to full height. And now that I think of it, it seems that earlier in
the day, my sizing was already getting worse, my windows resizing was only
able to move in steps of 20 pixels… maybe it’s the Graphic card that has a
problem (heat?). I tried to switch off the machine to cool it down, but that didn’t
help. I tried installing back a simple graphic driver like VGA instaed of the
Western Digital 90C31 driver, to see if the problem is related to the driver,
but that is not the case. The
Granularity value in Desktop of Control Panel increases in increments of 8.
For example, if Granularity is set to 1, it changes to 8 the next time you
choose Desktop in Control Panel after you log off and log back on (and from
8 to 64 even though the maximum value for Granularity is 49).

CAUSE
=====

This problem only occurs if you choose Desktop in Control Panel after each
successive logon.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.5.
